Description:

  • The fault code P0873 indicates that there is an issue with the transmission fluid pressure sensor/switch circuit 'C' that is reporting a high signal that is beyond the normal operating range. This may cause the transmission to shift erratically or not at all.

Possible Symptoms:

  • Harsh or erratic shifting

  • Transmission may fail to shift

  • Illuminated check engine light

  • Transmission may go into limp mode

Possible Causes:

  • Faulty transmission fluid pressure sensor/switch

  • Damaged or shorted wiring in the circuit

  • Loose or corroded electrical connections in the circuit

  • Failed transmission control module (TCM)
