Description:

• The fault code P0414 indicates that there is a short circuit in the secondary air injection system switching valve A circuit. This may cause the engine to run poorly or not start at all.

Possible Symptoms:

• Illuminated check engine light

• Rough idle or stalling

• Reduced engine power or acceleration

• Increased emissions

Possible Causes:

• Faulty secondary air injection system switching valve A

• Broken or damaged wiring in the secondary air injection system switching valve A circuit

• Corrosion or loose connections in the secondary air injection system switching valve A circuit

• Failed engine control module (ECM)
